The Commission of Inquiry on Tigray Genocide (CITG) released a comprehensive report on sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) across Tigray. The report has revealed alarming levels of violence committed against women and girls during the war that began in November 2020. The findings confirm that SGBV was widespread and systematic, constituting serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law, under certain circumstances, which amount to international crimes, including genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.
