​In the early morning hours of January 31, 2026 (23 Tir 2018 E.C.), between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM (local time), a drone strike was carried out in the Central Zone of Tigray, specifically in Enticho town and the Gendebta area. The attack targeted two Isuzu trucks loaded with food supplies (groceries). Consequently, one driver lost his life, while the driver’s assistant sustained serious injuries.

​The Interim Administration of Tigray strongly condemns this disgraceful act committed against innocent civilians. We express our deepest condolences and wish strength to the families of the victims. We also call upon our community to exercise extreme caution during their movements.

​Furthermore, we advise against the dissemination of false and unverified information on various social media platforms. Some are intentionally spreading reports aimed at terrorizing the public; such actions cause trauma no less significant than the actual attack and are legally punishable. We urge everyone to refrain from spreading such information.
